Elizabeth joined Parker in March 2008 as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, she sets the HR strategic vision to sustain Parker’s reputation as an employer of choice and to maintain a workplace culture in which all employees feel valued and able to contribute their personal best to the achievement of Parker’s success.
Elizabeth has honed her human resources management expertise over an 18 year career. Elizabeth served as a Senior HR leader at Sound Transit (ST), where she was initially hired to design the human resources infrastructure during their start up phase when the company grew from 26 employees to 100 in less than a year. Elizabeth was instrumental in this growth and in helping ST create efficient human resources solutions to address HR compliance, employee needs and retention. Some of these programs included: Hiring and Retention, Pay for Performance, On-Boarding, and Career Path Development. During her ten years with ST, she spearheaded and implemented other initiatives like ST’s internship program to develop leadership capabilities and mentoring among employees. This program opened doors for diversely talented individuals who otherwise would not have been able to compete for jobs in the company.
Elizabeth’s commitment to education, leadership and diversity issues extends beyond work. She served on St. Joseph’s School board and diversity committee to raise cultural awareness within the student body. As a public servant, she was also one of the first members to participate in a delegation to Manila, Philippines. The delegation was led by a Seattle City Council member along with other local government officials and educators to identify bi-lateral educational and business opportunities involving Seattle and Metropolitan Manila. She later wrote an article about the trip which was published in several Asian community papers.
